چکیده

Table 1 Expression of antigens defined by antibodies 3872 and 6.10 in frozen sections of tumor, as detected by immunohistology A modification of the Sternberger PAP technique (6) was used to demonstrate antigen expression in frozen sections of various tissues, as described under "Materials and Methods." The degree of staining detected was graded from (negative)through + (weakly positive) to ++++ (very strongly positive).Essentially all (>90%) carcinoma cells were stained within positive tumors, although their degree of staining varied from ++ to ++++.

Cell Surface Antigens of Human Bladder Tumors: Definition of Tumor Subsets by Monoclonal Antibodies and Correlation with Growth Characteristics1

Normal human urothelium and tumors of urothelial origin were ana lyzed with a panel of seven mouse monoclonal antibodies that identify surface antigens of cultured bladder cancer cell lines. Three categories of antigens were defined on the basis of differential expression on normal urothelium versus bladder tumors. Om5 (a category 1 antigen) is a highly restricted, differentiation antigen detec...

Production and characterization of mouse monoclonal antibodies to human bladder tumor-associated antigens.

Monoclonal antibodies (McAbs) to human bladder carcinoma were generated by fusion of NS-1 mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with either cultured human bladder cancer cells or cells obtained from a fresh surgically removed bladder tumor. Four hybridomas which reacted strongly with bladder tumor cells and not to normal skin fibroblasts or urothelial cells were ident...

Monoclonal antiidiotypic antibodies related to a murine oncofetal bladder tumor antigen induce specific cell-mediated tumor immunity.

Rat monoclonal antibody 6.10 recognizes a 175-kDa protein expressed in all BALB/c mouse transitional cell bladder carcinomas tested, in epithelial cells of the mouse embryo, and in a few epithelial cells of adult mice. The antibody was used as an immunogen to generate two mouse monoclonal antibodies, 21D9 and 43A10, which bind to idiotopes on antibody 6.10 associated with the binding site for t...

Effect of intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guérin on detection of a urothelial differentiation antigen in exfoliated cells of carcinoma in situ of the human urinary bladder.

Flow cytometry was used to detect and quantify expression of a urothelial differentiation antigen (Om5) and nuclear DNA in exfoliated epithelial cells of the urinary bladder from 15 patients with nonpapillary carcinoma in situ during and after intravesical therapy with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG). Before BCG treatment exfoliated cells reacting with the mouse monoclonal antibody Om5 were foun...
